Knights FAQ'sType in your Search Term
How do I become a Member of the Knights? The Knights are very selective when it comes to the parents and athletes that are allowed to try out for our teams. We want to ensure that the parents are committed to developing kids of character both on and off the field. If you are in this category, please contact us about future tryout and interviews. The eligibility of your player is based off of their age as of May 1 of that specific year. The age your child is on that day will determine the age for the next year.
Ex. If your child is 9 on May 1, then from May 1 through April 30th the following year, the child will be in the 10U Division.
Back to TopWhere can I find the Renovation Plans for Flint-Gresham Ballpark?
The new home of the Knights opened on May 1, 2010. We now will play all of our home games and practice at our brand new home. We are very proud of our new facility.
Back to TopWhy Select Baseball? We are big fans of Youth League Baseball, but as former Managers and Coaches, we realized the system of re-drafting players each season was great for beginners, but it held back the development of more experienced kids. We are committed to developing the skills of these kids, but also surrounding them with kids that become true teammates and life long friends. League Ball did not allow these kids to stay together and develop as a team.
Who are your Coaches and Board Members? The Organization is made up of parents, just like you. We have arrangements with some of the finest teachers of the game and consistently hire them to come work on the fundementals of the game. We found that the kids respond better in the long run when Dad is not the Manager/Coach. Every instructor and Coach is throughly analyzed for baseball accumen and ethical standards. We only want and seek the best. Back to TopWhat are the plans for the future of the organization? The inaugural season for the Knights was the Fall of 2009. We have agreements in place that will allow us to add teams under the Knight Organization as we see fit. WE plan to add a 11U and 8U Team in addition to our already existing 10U Team in the Summer and Falll of 2010. This will allow additional kids to take advantage of our exclusive relationships and our techinical skill development programs. If you are a Manager/Coach and would like to be considered to lead a team with the Knights, feel free to contact us and schedule an interview. We have a waiting list for kids and families that want to be a part of the Knights Organization, but we have to find the right people to lead the team before we will agree to add them. Back to TopWhen will you form a new team and what age group?Beginning the Summer of 2010, we will have tryouts for our 11U, 10u, and 8U Teams on June 26 at 10:00 a.m. at the Flint Gresham Ballpark. Other teams may be added if additional Coaches and Managers are found and there is interest. Back to Top
